Ice Land, The Workshops
Created in unison with Ice Land, A Hip h’Opera, this hip-hop workshop program will explore the history of hip hop, music creating, lyric writing, content expression and recording. Suitable for beginners to advanced emerging musicians, writers and dancers, it will be led by professional artists Scott ‘Optamus’, an MC from Perth-based Australian hip-hop group Downsyde and Moana Mayatrix from indie rock group MOANA, also from Perth. Their music features in Ice Land, A Hip h’Opera, an exciting new work produced by Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, directed by Kyle Morrison and written by Zac James, it uses the power of hip hop to explore a pressing issue within our communities.
